How can one expect someone to stay fit when they are surrounded by amazing restaurants and fine cuisines while on their vacation? It can't possibly be asked of someone to ignore such delicious distractions. With dishes such as refreshing appetizers of Gazpacho in Spain, noodles combined with sliced duck breast and scallions in Japan and dishes of crab filled baked shrimp surrounded by a champagne cream sauce in Italy, who has the power to fight it all? Well while you're having fun experiencing bistro after bistro hardcore exercising is the last thing on your mind. So what should you do to keep from putting on the extra pounds? Here are a few suggestions to keep that waistline slim and trim.
Recommended Dishes at MK Restaurants - MK is famous throughout Thailand for its slow cooker braised duck. Already cooked, it's around $3.50 for a plate, but absolutely delicious. So much so, very few people eat at MK restaurants without ordering duck. Grab your passport on Tuesday, July 14th and head out to High Cotton in downtown Charleston on East Bay Street for their Bastille Day Bash. You will try 12 wines of the Loire Valley paired with French inspired hors d'oeuvres. Sip and nibble while enjoying the music and ambiance of France. Call High Cotton at 843-724-3815. The Fountain Restaurant will start serving brunch at 10:00 a.m. Seating times are every half hour, until 2:30 p.m. Following are some of the items that will be served: organic field greens, honey glazed how to cook duck, seared Ahi tuna, assorted terrines and pates, local Artisan cheeses, smoked salmon and cocktail bagels, shrimp and oysters on ice, sushi, omelets, eggs Benedict, rosemary quails, swordfish, honey baked ham, leg of Spring lamb, prime rib of beef, and various Easter-themed desserts. The cost is $52 for adults, $24 for children between the ages of five and twelve, and children under five are complimentary. Wait for the sales! Almost every week I look in the fliers and there is a slow cooker duck, half off, or only $15, or some other ridiculous deal. Don't buy one that's full price unless you have to!! The Lounge is open Nightly: 5:30pm-11pm and yes do make reservations. Some of their top items are Hand crafted spinach and chive pasta with snails, garlic, herbs and bread crumbs for $25.00, Wood-roasted Colorado rack of lamb and crispy Wisconsin lamb belly with Sardinian couscous, baby fennel and myrtle for $ 42.00 and Creamy Aquerello organic risotto with asparagus, taleggio cooking a whole crispy duck crispy dewlap for $25.00. Mix the OJ, Cranberry, in a pitcher; place in the freezer if desired to get icy cold. Fill stemmed glasses half full with the wine. Pour enough of the fruit juice mixture into each glass to fill; stir.
